Artist's Statement

I have always loved to draw, starting at an early age.  In High School I would  add drawings on the corners of my book report pages.  As an adult I wanted to get some real instruction in art and learned about the famous Artist Course.  My children were young so,  my mother came and babysat my children while I worked as a nurse to make enough money to pay for the course.  Wanting to further my art education I took oil painting classes at Young Harris College and the University of Tennessee in the 80’s.  In the 90’s I became interested in mosaics and I was able to take mosaic classes in Las Vegas.  Recently I have taken up needle felting wool as a medium and I am have fun trying to make landscapes in this medium. I love all art forms and enjoy exploring the many possibilities they provide for artistic expression.  You never know when you’ll have the chance to explore something new. One Christmas my son gave me a glass fusing kit and I have enjoyed experimenting with it. There are so many art forms and simply not enough time to try them all, but I’m having fun trying.
